Plot Summary

In Pune, Sajeeri, a humble and hardworking girl, dreams of making a mark in the culinary world. She is closest friends with Sanchi, a rich girl her opposite. Renowned chef from the affluent Mukadam family, Shivam falls in love with Sanchi and proposes but she turns him down. Then Sanchi persuades Sajeeri Shivam to love her. Under a drunk state one night, Shivam proposes to Sajeeri, which makes her believe in his love.
Enquiring for Sajeeri’s hand for her son, Shivam’s mother Nalini also happens to be a close friend of Sajeeri. Though Shivam hates her, Sajeeri gets married. Calling Sajeeri “Basti Wali,” (the girl from the lower quarters), Urmila, Shivam’s grandma, objects. Along with Mandira, Shivam’s sister-in-law, Urmila schemes against Sajeeri but falls short.
Then Urmila brings back Sanchi, who left her boyfriend Nikhil behind. Now shattered, Sanchi chooses to win Shivam from Sajeeri. Shivam discovers, nonetheless, that he loves Sajeeri. He tries dramatically on his life with Sanchi, but Sajeeri saves him while Sanchi saves herself. To Sanchi, Shivam emphasizes the need for friendship and loyalty. Sanchi goes; Shivam and Sajeeri meet once more. Urmila welcomes Sajeeri, and the family is content once more.
