Plot Overview
Neil Pereira, Ahana Singh, and Imaad Ali have been best friends since they were in school. Neil works as a personal trainer at a gym; Ahana has an MBA from the London School of Economics and is an HR expert, and Imaad is a stand-up comedian. Each of them depends on social media in their own way. Ahana feels hurt and confused when her boyfriend, Rohan, abruptly requests a break from them. She starts to follow Rohan around and finds out that he has a new lover named Tanya. Finally, she begins to post content on social media independently to attract his attention.
Imaad engages in numerous dates. He usually meets girls on Tinder under the name “Zeeshan” and has one-night stands with them before ghosting them. One day, he meets Simran Kohli on the app. Simran Kohli, an older woman and a photographer, instantly connects with him. He begins to develop a personal connection with her. However, he continues to use Tinder despite Ahana and Neil’s advice to stop and focus on pursuing Simran.
Neil is from a simple middle-class family and wants to open his own gym. On social media, he often compares himself to personal trainers who are more successful than him, and he tries very hard to get famous customers. He is also in a romantic relationship with a famous person, Laxmi Lalvani, also known as “Lala,” but they are keeping it a secret.
Imaad makes fun of Neil’s relationship with Lala during one of his sets, calling it fake. Neil quickly gets frustrated and calls Imaad names. After the show, he yells at Imaad, hits him, and tells him to deal with his own issues by emotionally connecting with someone. Since Ahana quit her job to open a gym with Neil and Imaad, there has been no communication between them.
At the same time, Imaad and Simran’s friendship grows stronger. They tell each other they love each other and move in together. Ahana’s social media posts refocus Rohan’s attention. During a sangeet for a friend’s wedding, Rohan flirts with Ahana, leading to a romantic encounter that evening. In the morning, Ahana finds that Rohan is not there and has blocked her on all social media and her phone number.
Neil discusses the situation with Lala after she posts a picture of herself kissing someone else. She says that she only hung out with him when she was bored and never thought about their relationship as real. She then makes a report against Neil, which gets him fired from his job as a trainer. After that, he gets angry and breaks into her Instagram account, making several posts that show she is not who she says she is.
When Simran looks at Imaad’s phone and sees texts from a Tinder date, she knows that he is still seeing other women. Even though he says it doesn’t matter, she breaks up with him and tells him to leave. Simultaneously, Ahana confronts Rohan at his birthday party, still intoxicated, and informs Tanya about their previous hookup. Rohan makes fun of Ahana after she leaves the party, but Imaad shows up and tries to fight him. Neil comes in and punches Rohan just as he is about to hit Imaad. Imaad and Neil make up and leave with Ahana. Ahana realizes that she doesn’t need to put her sense of self-worth on Rohan. After witnessing Lala’s online bullying, Neil publicly apologizes to her.
A comedian named Imaad tells the crowd that his father’s business partner sexually abused him as a child. This makes Imaad cry. He agrees that the abuse made it challenging for him to be close to people, but he now wants to take charge of his life. People cheer for him until the end of his show, and Ahana and Neil, who are in the crowd, comfort him while he cries backstage.
The three friends begin to value their lives more and rely less on social media. Their parents are overjoyed when they finally open the gym together. Later, Imaad approaches Simran again at the opening of her art store, and she smiles, showing that they are back on favorable terms.
